Perceptions Theatre’s BIPOC Play Festival was created in 2021 to offer local playwrights of color a platform to share their stories. Last year we were able to showcase six playwrights of color and their work virtually. Now, our June 2024 festival will be in person then streamed virtually and offers five diverse, intriguing tales that explore: the women of the Black Panther Party; the effects of toruism; caring for children with disabilities; writers block and what happens when you get kicked out of Heaven and have to live life as a human.

Featuring Plays: Panther Women: An Army for the Liberation by India Nicole Burton, The Nag by Louis Johnson, The New New Testament by alfonzo kahlil, Issa Was Here by Makeda M. Declet and First Comes Love by Marie Yuen.
