About the Event
Written and Co-Directed by Cameron Townsend-Riley & Jerluane “Jae” Jenkins
Coronary Artery examines the public health crisis that is the Chicago red line. We
follow Dennis, a 34-year-old black man leading his family to success, as he’s confronted with
the sickness ingrained in his commute. As public health issues arise and intersect with displays
of poverty, violence and mental illness this service has become a microcosm of Chicago
societal issues. As the cultural climate on the train shifts and flows, Dennis, his family, and
voices of those lost must navigate the injustices in front of him to secure his family’s future.
